The one type of fitness club that you don't need a membership to are hotel gyms. In the case of hotel gyms you usually just have to be a guest there.
There may be a fee involved, though the majority of chains offer it as a free extra to entice people who like to stay in shape to choose them over rivals that perhaps do not offer any fitness facilities.
The amenities at hotel gyms can range from somewhat limited to far-reaching and better than a health club chain. In some cases you may get the very basics- treadmills, Stairmasters and weightlifting equipment, with little or no staff to serve you.
However, high-end hotel gyms can offer things such as Olympic-sized swimming pools, tennis courts, volleyball courts, saunas, steam rooms, masseuses and more. Some will even call in a personal trainer for a quick session if you request it (though this will almost certainly cost you extra, as most personal trainers do).
No matter how good the facilities are, this is an added benefit of your travel and should be taken advantage of. Being on the road should never be an excuse to not follow your normal workout schedule. A quick session of even just 30 minutes can boost your energy level and help you get over things like jet lag and fatigue that often comes with travel.
It can also help you get sounder sleep, which some people find hard to do in a strange bed in a strange city. All of these things help contribute to a heightened sense of wellness and better performance at your job and any other responsibilities you may have.
