To take your personal training career to the next level consider becoming NCSF certified. Many gyms look at the NCSF as a top-level certification so upon completion you should have no problems finding a good paying career.

Some of the popular gyms around the world that recognize this certification are Reebok Sports Club, Powerhouse Gym, Equinox, 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness, Gold's Gym, X Sport Fitness, Bally Total Fitness, Work Out World and Wellbridge.

The NCSF stands for the National Council on Strength & Fitness and is universally recognized. The education programs it offers you both theory and practical information to help ensure you are ready to start working with clients at the gym.

The training for this certification costs $309.00 and that includes the text book, study guide manual, a two-day workshop if taking the workshop route (or alternatively a lab study guide if you are doing it through distance learning format) and a one year membership with the NCSF.

You can also enrol in training school, which increases the cost up to $495.00 however you then also get 8 weeks (35 hours) of instruction as well. This would be a good option for those who are new to fitness and do not have a great deal of basic knowledge yet, or those who do best while learning in a classroom setting.

The course will cover the areas of fitness and bodyfat assessment, flexibility and strength testing, how to analyze a client and determine a suitable routine for them, how to calculate basal metabolic rate and make nutritional recommendations and finally how to set up individual based programs that are targeted towards each clients needs and goals.

There is no doubt that taking this certification will both help you in your career and also to help you to gain a better knowledge base for yourself as far as health and fitness is concerned.
