Diabetes Symptom

Are you concerned that you might have a diabetes symptom? Because this serious condition can cause irreparable damage, and even death, it's vital to be able to spot a diabetes symptom and get a diagnosis as soon as possible.

It can be difficult to identify a diabetes symptom because the indicators are often ones that could indicate many other conditions, which is why educating yourself is so important to your health, particularly if you have a history of diabetes in your family.

So how do you recognize a diabetes symptom? And what changes can you make to your diet and lifestyle once you have?

There are two different types of diabetes. Type 1 is when the body can't produce insulin at all, and Type 2 if the body can only produce small amounts. Type 1 is the rarest form of the illlness, and generally affects 5-15% of the population. The major indicators to watch out for with Type 1 include a persistent need to urinate, constant intense hunger, extreme thirst, unexplained weight loss, excessive tiredness, irritability, and even blurry vision.

Type 2 is generally linked with being overweight, and usually appears in people over the age of 40, though it can be seen in African/Caribean and South Asian people over the age of 25. Indicators for Type 2 include blurred vision, a tendency toward yeast infections, itchy skin, cuts or abrasions that take a long time to heal, pains in the legs and a constant need to urinate.

If you start to experience any of these key indicators, it's best to get to your doctor right away for a diagnosis. With proper medical attention and dietary changes, sufferers can lead a long and fulfilling life.
